Funny Halloween Decorations

Halloween wouldn't be the same if you didn't make the effort to look suitably ghastly.  It's not like other holidays where you just carry on as normal - Halloween funny costumes are absolutely necessary to make it right.  There are certain things that you just can't do without at Halloween...

Even if you don't go over the top and set up a full 'Haunted House' there are simple things that you can do to enter into the spirit of things.  Luminous or Glow in the dark paint is quick and easy to make your face scary for Halloween, and you can easily decorate your house and clothes without too much fuss.  There will be lots of ghouls and ghosts wandering the streets and they will follow some suitably placed Halloween signs if you decorate them with glow paint. You can do drips of glowing blood to make a breadcrumb trail to your door, or even some ghoulish paw prints.

Dry Ice or a fog machine will create a misty swamp in your garden, or you can have vapours rising from under the porch - they will all add to the atmosphere and take only a fe minutes to set up - do be careful with dry ice though, you should wear protective gloves when handling it and make sure small fingers can't touch it. to prevent any burns.  If you do decide to have misty swamp you can hang all kinds of things from trees and bushes to create a really spooky atmosphere - try some funny Halloween ogres.  You can even get helium balloons and drape them with sheets or scrap fabric and float them in the yard too.

Halloween wouldn't be Halloween without a Witch or two - wrinkles and warty, or gorgeous and glamorous, either will do.  You can use cutouts on windows, or even have a dummy witch lurking in the hallway - and don't forget, they need their brooms to get around so a couple of those propped here and there, suitably draped with cobwebs and other witchy things are very effective.  We set one up to swing in the doorway when it was opened to Trick or Treaters.  Witches have to have their Cats too, preferably black and with fur that sticks out every which way.  Don't try and dress up your cat - they don't like it very much, especially if you put hair gel on them to make their fur all sticky - better to use a dummy, one with sound effects is good.  A Bat or two flying round adds to the atmosphere as well - if they are suspended on elastic then they will bob and bounce very realistically.

A nice touch is to have a cauldron for the 'Treats' that your provide, A glove filled with jelly lurking in the depths of the cauldron can catch your visitors out, just when they think they are safe.  These are just a few of the ideas that you can use to decorate at Halloween - you can find lots more at Halloween Funny Stuff too.
